NISIG’s Research at the ESHRE Conference

NISIG were delighted to share their research on the impact of our workshop’s series supporting disclosure in families of donor conceived children at the ESHRE Conference in Paris in early July.

This is the culmination of three years’ work on this project providing parents with the tools and information to support the disclosure conversations with their children. We are delighted to report that the parents who attended these workshops reported a significant improvement in their knowledge, comfort, and confidence regarding optimal time and approach to disclosure conversations following this intervention.

We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ciara Byrne who facilitated the workshops with parents and to Dr. Laura McKee who headed the research element of the project. We would also like to thank The Hospital Saturday Fund, for providing grants to support this project, without their support the project would not have been possible.

We are hoping to secure future funding to continue to provide support to parents around disclosure, we will provide an update on this in due course.
