POE KIELY HOGAN LANIGAN SOLICITORS/FERTILITY LAW IRELAND

Surrogacy in Ireland; What you need to Know

On Thursday the 21st February last Annette Hickey & Ger Fahy of Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan Solicitors in Kilkenny organized a surrogacy information event in The Clayton Hotel, Ballybrit, Galway.  Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan Solicitors have established a dedicated team to deal with surrogacy and fertility law, providing advice to intended parents throughout the country.

Annette & Ger shared their knowledge and experience and provided those in attendance with a comprehensive guide to surrogacy, including domestic and international surrogacy (in particular the Ukraine and Canada), the Irish court procedure and the General Scheme of Assisted Human Reproduction Bill 2017.  The event was very well attended with couples from the West of Ireland and as far away as Wicklow and Cork travelling to learn more about surrogacy.  Annette Hickey said the objective of the evening was to arrange an event where intended parents would feel supported, relaxed and comfortable and find out all of the essential information, tips and knowledge that they require in order to make an informed decision about surrogacy.

Doctors from the Galway Fertility Clinic, including Jenny Cloherty were also in attendance and were available to provide their advice and guidance.

Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan frequently update their website with important information, articles and blogs.  In 2018 the firm launched their e-book “Surrogacy; A Route to Parenthood in Ireland” which proved to be a huge success and an invaluable guide for intended parents.  A second edition is now available on the firm’s website (www.pkhl.ie)
